Gerald Perera

Gerald Perera, a torture victim was summoned to give evidence in the High Court regarding six police officers in a trial under the Prevention of Torture Act, Act No 22 of 1994. A week before he was to appear in court he was shot while travelling on a bus and died of his injuries on 24 November 2004.
