Make a Legacy Gift to Redress
A gift to REDRESS in your will is one of the most valuable and memorable contributions you can make towards a future world without torture.
By leaving a legacy to REDRESS, you are making a powerful statement against torture and a lasting contribution to upholding one of society's most fundamental values. Your legacy will enable REDRESS to continue its work to obtain justice for torture survivors throughout the world and ensure that torturers are held to account, both now and in the future.
REDRESS is committed to helping survivors obtain justice for the torture they suffered, however long this takes. Many of the cases REDRESS helps bring to court, impact not only on the individual survivor concerned, but advance the rule of law, and so benefit many more survivors in the future. By supporting this work, your legacy will make a lasting and far-reaching difference to torture survivors.
A legacy gift to REDRESS will help us to continue supporting survivors and lobbying governments for however long is necessary to bring about justice and ensure that the absolute prohibition of torture is upheld, always.
How to leave a legacy gift to REDRESS
Making a will is one of the most important ways to ensure that your wishes will be carried out exactly as you wanted. After you have provided for your family and friends a legacy gift, however small or large, can make a significant and lasting difference to the causes you believe in.
If you are a UK resident then a legacy is cost-effective too. Legacies to charities are not subject to inheritance tax in the UK.
By informing REDRESS that you included a legacy gift to us in your will, it will help us to plan our future funding needs. Your pledge will be treated with total confidentiality. However, we also understand and respect your wishes if you prefer not to tell us.
If you would like to leave a gift in your will to REDRESS, you can use the wording: ‘I leave ________ (your donation) to The Redress Trust, UK Registered Charity Number 1015787. 87 Vauxhall Walk, London SE11 5HJ.'
We recommend that you consult a solicitor before making or amending your will.
