Voluntary Position

Description:

REDRESS is urgently looking for a web design volunteer to develop a website for a criminal law reform project that seeks to engage civil society in Sudan
We are also looking for a volunteer to work on our website www.vrwg.org

 
Key Duties:
  • Develop website for the project
  • Interact with project team, IT Consultant and Administrator to confirm and understand what is required
 
Required Skills:
  • Experience of creating & maintaining medium to large size websites with a focus on maintainability, extensibility & cross-browser/platform compatibility.
  • Good knowledge of current design best practices, particularly with regard to the use of CSS for structural purposes.
  • Some exposure to Dreamweaver as this is used by non-specialist staff to maintain REDRESS’ sites.
  • Able to adapt quickly to changing priorities and meet deadlines.
Helpful Skills/Knowledge:
  • Genuine interest in human rights issues and the principles and work of Redress
  • Professional and friendly with the ability to interact with people
  • Knowledge of Arabic is highly desirable

Time commitment:  
Should be able to commit at least 16hrs a week

Duration:  
Flexible (minimum 2-3 months)
