Maldives
The Maldives acceded to the UN Convention Against Torture on 20 Apr 2004 and has also ratified the Optional Protocol to the Convention Against Torture on 15 Feb 2006. The UN SubCommittee on the Prevention Against Torture visited the Maldives in December 2007 and the report of its visit is located here.
REDRESS has been collaborating with civil society in the Maldives and attended the inaugural meeting of the new Torture Victims Association in March 2010.
